Valuables

2012-2014

I am fascinated by the notion of “women's crafts” as a form of art. In my work entitled “Valuables”. I inquire about forms of expressing oneself through a given technique. Does the use of a particular technique inevitably lead to perceiving a piece of art as feminine? Does the artistic use of, say, lace automatically classify one's art as a feminist?

What irritates the audience so much about inoffensive needle-works exhibited in a gallery? Is it the fact that they are a craft, or is it what these works represent?

I am also interested in intergenerational relations,

as well as family and social ties lost as a consequence of emancipation and globalization.

Good modest jewelry for every occasion.
